Children's Dance and Sports Instructors Wanted in Brooklyn - New York City

Job description

Fit 4 Life Kids is committed to filling the activity gaps that exist in children's lives by introducing them to a variety of traditional and non-traditional sports, dance, fitness and martial arts activities. We are currently seeking talented and caring instructors and coaches to join our team. Classes take place at our partner schools and non-profit organizations during the afterschool hours. Interviews will be held the week of December 19th and 26th for potential candidates. Only serious applicants are encouraged to apply.

We are currently hiring for:
Sports and Fitness Coaches - Soccer, Yoga, Cooperative Fitness Games, Basketball, and more
Dance - Jazz, Step, Salsa, Hip Hop, Step, African and more

In order to be considered for the position you MUST have the following:
* A minimum of 2 yrs. experience coaching/teaching groups of children.
* Strong group and classroom management skills.
* A clear demonstration of success in working with children (verified by references) in grades K-1, 2-4 and/or 5-7.
* Up to date certifications (if applicable)

Additional requirements that are a PLUS, but not required:
* Updated First Aid/CPR
* Up to date fingerprint clearance by the Department of Education (fingerprint clearance is required prior to starting)
* Previous experience teaching in an afterschool setting

Job Details:
* Teach 3-4 classes a week. Classes are typically one hour long. Some school day teaching opportunities available.
* 20-25 students in each class.
* A mandatory training will be provided along with ongoing staff development training throughout the year.
* $20-$35/hour depending on education and experience.
